4.1.3 – Equal Opportunity Employment and Workforce Diversity

Standard: There shall be an established policy regarding diversity with evidence of implementation that assures equal opportunities for employment, promotion, and equity in employment working conditions and that complies with the American Disabilities Act.

Suggested Evidence of Compliance: Provide the equal opportunity and workforce diversity policy and show evidence of implementation.

RESPONSE: EOC 8 is a PDF of our internal website that all employees can view anytime.  This is another way that employees can access Westchester County policies. 

 

Narrative: 

The Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Workforce Diversity Policy can be found in Westchester County (WC) Executive Orders Number 2 and Number 3 from 2009. In addition, PRC prepares and updates an Affirmative Action Plan annually. 

WC and PRC are committed to the dignity of every individual and have a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of harassment and discrimination. This policy is comprehensively detailed in the Harassment & Discrimination Training for New Employees Manual and the WC Employee Handbook, both of which also address the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the PRC Administration Manual. All documents are accessible online.

New employees receive these manuals and undergo relevant training at orientation, and all staff are mandated to complete online Harassment & Discrimination training annually. They are also posted on facility bulletin boards.
