7.3 – Defense Against Encroachment Procedures

Standard: The agency shall have procedures for protecting park and recreation lands and facilities from encroachment. The procedures should include progressive steps to address escalated encroachment issues.

Narrative:

Boundaries for most PRC parkland is posted and patrolled during ongoing and routine management activities to identify encroachment or vandalism. Encroachment is typically found along rights-of-ways and small areas in residential areas. When evident encroachment exists, the PRC Defense Against Encroachment Policy and Procedures are followed which outline progressive steps that can be taken to protect parkland.
