Narrative:

PRC follows established County policies for the acceptance of gifts and donations. Gifts, donations or bequests over $100 must be submitted to the County Executive for acceptance. The gift, donation or bequest is reviewed by the Department of Budget for potential financial impacts and by the Planning Department to determine if a New York State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) is required. A Deed of Gift form is completed and then presented to the County Board of Legislators (BOL) for acceptance.

When accepting art-related objects, the best practices of the museum field are used to process the gift or donation. A collection management policy guides the acceptance and care of the gift or donation.
