Standard: There shall be established policies and procedures for termination and end of employment.

Suggested Evidence of Compliance: Provide the termination and end of employment policies and procedures and indicate how they have been communicated to employees.

Narrative:

PRC follows Westchester County (WC) established policies and procedures for end of employment and termination. Key in this process is the Exit Interview/Separation Form which includes full information regarding the employee, last day of work, county property returned, and a review with the employee of health care coverage, life insurance, retirement and post-employment, deferred compensation, unemployment information, time and leave balances, payroll deductions and other subjects.

PRC also follows progressive discipline and removal policies as outlined in the NYS Manual of Procedure in Disciplinary Actions: Title B Sections 75 and 76, and the CSEA and Teamsters contracts.

These policies are included in the WC Employee Handbook and PRC Administration Manual, posted on facility bulletin boards, and accessible on the WC Intranet.
